Melanie’s life sits at the intersection of faith, service, family, and learning. Professionally, she is a chemistry teacher, but beyond the classroom she is deeply invested in people and community. Melanie has been involved in church since childhood, came to faith in her teens, and her faith deepened significantly in her early twenties after she got married. In recent years she has spent time in a season of discernment around vocational ministry, prayerfully considering how God might be calling her to use her gifts. Melanie connects most deeply with God through music and worship, as well as through quiet time reading the Bible, which grounds and shapes her faith. She is particularly passionate about reaching people in the community who might never normally step into a church, because she longs for them to experience a relationship with God and discover the hope and peace that come with that—especially in seasons when life feels heavy and the world feels a little broken. Alongside all of this, Melanie is a wife and mum to three sons, enjoys the unexpected fun of inline hockey, and likes to unwind with crocheting, reflecting both her energetic and creative sides.
